TRIAL 1: Chronic Low Back Pain – on daily prescription pain medicine
Do you have moderate to severe low back pain lasting at least several hours daily as your predominant pain condition for at least 3 months?
Is your low back pain caused by something other than cancer or a pinched nerve, and if it radiates down one or both legs, does it NOT radiate below your knees?
Do you take prescription pain medication daily but still have an average daily pain score of 5 or greater on a 0-10 scale?
TRIAL 2: Chronic Low Back Pain or Osteoarthritis of the Knee or Hip
Do you have osteoarthritis of the knee(s) or hip(s) for at least one year OR chronic low back pain lasting at least several hours daily for at least 3 months?
Do you take non-opioid (non-narcotic) pain medications such as Advil, Aleve, Tylenol, Mobic, or Celebrex on a regular daily regimen and/or opioid medications like Lortab or Vicodin as needed but 4 days or less per week?
In spite of taking daily pain medication for your arthritis or low back pain, do you still have moderate to severe pain and feel that you “need something stronger?”
Are you male or female, at least 18 years of age, with adult-onset RA for at least 6 months?
Are you currently taking Methotrexate?
Have you been unsuccessfully treated with one or two TNF-Blockers (Humira, Embrel, Simponi, Cimzia, Remicade) either due to intolerance, lack of response, or loss of response?
Do you have severe (7 or greater on a 0 – 10 scale) focal cancer pain (localized to a specific area) which persists despite treatment with conventional pain medications?
Is your focal area of cancer pain below your jaw (not on your head or face)?
Do you have a life expectancy of at least 2 months?
